Chapter 5 "Hope in the Unseen"

The part of the book i will be able to write about is chapter 5. I can summarize this chapter because it really showed what Cedric had to do to become successful. Basically in the chapter, Cedric graduates from Ballou High School. He applies for all these colleges and the most college that has broughten to his attention was Brown University. In order for him to get in, he had to write a well done essay about anything. Brown accepted him because the essay he wrote well very good. Before graduation, Cedric had to write a speech and speak it infront of everyone at graduation. He had help from Clarence. He had to change his essay because Clarence said it's not the time to be talking negative about anything, Think positive. At graduation, he made the speech, people thought it was a dumb speech until he really went deeper into the writing. At the end when everything was done, people were shaking his hands because of the wonderful things he had said during the graduation ceremony. At the end of his speech he mention a poem by Langston Hughes Called "Dreams". I can related to that poem because in 5th grade, my teacher told us to remember the pem and later on in life we will tell it to our kids or other people about Dreams.
